In 1986, he founded his own furniture design company and became one of the leading figures shaping the development of contemporary furniture design in Turkey. Since its establishment, Serbest has approached design not merely as an aesthetic element, but as a discipline integrated with production, functionality, and cultural values. Through this original perspective, he has left a lasting mark on the industry.
In 1996, he pioneered the dissemination of design culture and the support of young designers by organizing Turkey’s first furniture design competition. This initiative made a significant contribution to the broader recognition of furniture design as a professional discipline.
Adnan Serbest’s designs have been exhibited over the years at numerous international fairs and platforms, contributing to the global visibility of Turkish furniture design. His work is characterized by clean forms, strong proportions, and production-oriented details, with a design philosophy rooted in timelessness and functionality.
